A Special Ceremony
to Consecrate Medicine Buddha Statue

On Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th March, 2010

Medicine Buddha Statue at Lama Tendar's new
 Medicine Buddha Tantrayana Meditation Centre

In the Tibetan tradition, holy statues enshrined in monasteries are filled with precious items then blessed in a special ceremony during which the Ultimate Awareness is invited to enter into and merge with the statue. The statue then becomes a living entity capable of bestowing blessings.

Lama Tendar warmly invites you to attend this rare and auspicious ceremony to consecrate our new Medicine Buddha Statue that has recently arrived from Nepal.

So please join Lama Tendar and sanga to help fill the Buddha Statue, the weekend will be dedicated to filling the statue with sacred mantras, fragrant herbs, crystals and semi precious stones. Then Lama Tendar will consecrate the Medicine Buddha Statue.

If you would like to come along and bring some small item that is special to you that you would like to place inside the Buddha Statue. Keeping in mind that the Buddha Statue will last for hundreds of years, bringing benefit to all that view it, you are welcome to do this.  No leather or animal items will be included.

Lama Tendar has requested that no meat or garlic is eaten for any meals during the weekend. Please bring lunch to share, food without meat or garlic.

The filling and consecration ceremony will take place at Lama Tendar’s new

Medicine Buddha Tantrayana Meditation Centre

On Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th March

If you would like to bring your own statues to the ceremony to be blessed you are welcome to do this and make a small donation to the centre.

Unfortunately there is not enough time over the week-end to fill personal statues. There is however a possibility that Lama Tendar will have the time to offer the ceremony to fill and consecrate personal statues in the future.
