| About Healings, Blessings & Counselling With Venerable Lobsang Tendar |
In western culture, teaching and healing are often seen as two distinct applications of knowledge, whereas in Buddhist practice such distinctions dissolve. The mind is itself the source of much sorrow and illness, which may be healed when we learn to apply the Buddha's compassion to others and to ourselves.
For those in need of help with health issues, attending one of Tendar's regular Medicine Buddha Retreats, which help us to focus on the well-being of others and ourselves may also prove highly beneficial.
Lama Tendar has helped many people. Tendar sees helping and healing the community as a substantial and integral part of his teaching. Tendar will help anyone who asks!

Blessings are similar to healings in that they impart purity and a cleansing quality to inanimate objects, essentially empowering them. Some sacred objects may be consecrated to be able to actually bestow blessings (see the Buddha Statue Dedication). Blessings may be carried out for people and pets, small to large objects, or from rooms to entire homes.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Tendar whom I met at the Living Now Exhibition 29/04/2006. He gave me the healing which has made me feel better in just one day by now. When I came to him, I had been unable to sleep for weeks and my chest was very heavy. After the healing yesterday, I had a great sleep this morning and the depression has been reduced a lot.
It is so real that I can feel it in every hour. My mind is better. My heart is at peace. I was unable to forget my sadness before, but today when I went out, I felt fresh and motivated a lot. Tendar works from the Heart in all he speaks, his actions, teaching from the mind and spiritually towards all he meets. I have been honoured to have gentle healing and feel blessed to have been offered such a treasure. What a gift we all have in having this man in our presence in Australia. To learn so many healing tools from this gifted person will flow through all who have encountered being with this sacred spirit. Thankyou and Blessings to you Tendar from my heart to your heart.

The Healing ceremony on 19/08/2007 was requested because of sickness amongst EACH staff at the site and was conducted by Aunty Janet and Tendar. Tendar spoke movingly about his respect for the spiritual culture of Indigenous Australians and the shared experience of loss of country.
A boomerang painted by Aunty Irene Wangudu O'Loughlin, Narungga was taken by Tendar to Tibet and handed over in what I hear was a very moving ceremony as a symbol of the link between the two countries. |
